‘The Walking Dead’ And ‘Fear The Walking Dead’ Worlds Will Soon Collide

At New York Comic-Con at the Theater at Madison Square Garden,  The Walking Dead creator Robert Kirkman teased a crossover between the original AMC TWD and its prequel series will happen sooner than we think. All we know is that one character will cross over between the two shows.

“We want these shows to have their own legs, tell their own stories and be their own thing,” Kirkman said, “and I think we’ve finally gotten to a place with ‘Fear’ where it has its own identity where, you know, we can play with some things.”

“There is one character that is going to go from one show, that I will not name, to another show, that I will not name,” he continued. “Now, what does that mean? Because these timelines, like… how does that work? Are we going to see an interesting backstory of a Walking Dead character in Fear the Walking Dead? Or are we going to see a Fear the Walking Dead character show up in The Walking Dead and show a future version of the character?”

Kirkman said that further details would be revealed in “the coming months.”

About this season of The Walking Dead:

The Walking Dead

The Walking Dead

Rick and his survivors bring “All Out War” to Negan and his forces. The Saviors are larger, better-equipped, and ruthless, but Rick and the unified communities are fighting for the promise of a brighter future. The battle lines are drawn as they launch into a kinetic, action-packed offensive.

Up until now, survival has been the focus of Rick and our group, but it’s not enough. They have to fight to take back their freedom so that they can live, so that they can rebuild. As with any battle, there will be losses, casualties. But with Rick leading the Alexandrian forces, Maggie leading the Hilltop, and King Ezekiel leading the Kingdom, Negan and the Saviors’ grip on this world may finally be coming to an end.

FTWD Season 3 currently airs Sundays at 9/8c. Meanwhile, TWD Season 8 premiere — which doubles as its 100th episode — airs Sunday, Oct. 22 at 9 pm.
